Overwhelmed After Quad Day

Overwhelmed After Quad Day Quad day is one of the best, yet most stressful days, for any incoming University of Illinois freshman. Lets be real, the free goodies are great, but walking away with a handful of flyers is overwhelming. So how should you decide which email lists to put in your spam? First,  make sure you join clubs for the right reasons. Dont join an RSO (registered student organization) just because your friends are. College is a great time to branch out and discover new interests you never knew you had. Second, keep an open mind. You will have time to try many different clubs while still managing your school work. Quad day is non-binding, so show up to a few meetings and see what each club is about! Last, but certainly not least, trying new things is one of the best parts of college. Its easy to try out for the same sports team you played all throughout high school, but why not try Humans VS Zombies? Or  Carle Volunteers? The options are endless for an incoming freshman on campus. All in all, use your first year on campus to learn about yourself, meet new friends, and expand your interests. Four years fly by faster than you can believe, so enjoy every moment (and all of the free food at club meetings)!
